Alim Ladha, MD, is a board-certified neurological surgeon at Basin Neurosurgical and Spine Associates in Odessa, Texas. Dr. Ladha is an experienced fellowship-trained neurosurgeon who uses advanced tools and techniques when performing spine and brain surgery, so patients get the best outcomes.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and immunology at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, Dr. Ladha relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, completing his Doctor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Ladha continued his training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), completing his general surgery residency and serving as chief resident during his final year.
He then participated in a research fellowship with the American Cancer Society at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine before completing a fellowship in adult spinal surgery at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Dedicated to his profession, Dr. Ladha co-authors articles in peer-reviewed journals and medical textbooks. He’s also been recognized for his patient care, receiving the Medical Center Health System Trauma Care Champion award and UNC Health Care Plus People Award.
In addition to his neurosurgical practice, Dr. Ladha is the surgery section chief at Odessa Regional Medical Center and a member of its medical executive committee.
Dr. Ladha is known for spending the time needed with his patients to fully explain their diagnosis and treatment options. His approach to patient care helps his patients feel more at ease.
